The Levia LiteSpot™ and LiteBrush™ deliver NB UVB directly and precisely to the affected areas of skin and scalp, minimizing the effect on surrounding uninvolved skin. The fiber optic brush is unique to Daavlin within the phototherapy industry. The LiteBrush bypasses the hair and delivers light directly to the scalp to provide the full healing benefit to the patient.
The spectral output of Levia is in the 300-320nm wavelength. By eliminating the 290-300nm component of UVB, there is a lower potential for erythema. Therefore, Levia can deliver stronger doses (multiple MEDs) to psoriatic plaques. Levia can deliver the level of light energy required for healing through a typical course of 25 – 30 treatments, or, with accelerated dosimetry, clearance can be achieved in as few as 10 treatments for psoriasis patients.The Levia Pro is designed for the professional with multiple patients. Under a physician’s supervision, Levia® users can employ two proprietary light beam delivery attachments (LiteSpot™ and LiteBrush™) to deliver precise, measured and targeted ultraviolet B (UVB) light within the spectral band of 300-320 nanometers to areas of psoriasis-affected skin. This targeted UVB light as used by Levia is named UVB-Select™. The Levia LiteSpot is used to treat small areas anywhere on the body, while the Levia LiteBrush is designed specifically for the scalp.Each of the attachments, which fit interchangeably into the Handpiece, directs unobstructed UVB light to the target areas of skin and scalp. The quartz fiber-optic bristles of the LiteBrush bypass the hair barrier to deliver light directly on to the scalp or other hair bearing areas. The specially-designed, rounded tips of the bristles spread the light over and around the contact points on the scalp, bypassing the hair and delivering the therapeutic UVB light precisely on the areas that need it.

The LiteSpot incorporates proprietary optical technology in directing the UVB light that is generated by an enhanced lamp with special optical coatings. The LiteSpot delivers a precise UVB dose directly to psoriasis plaques without the broad illumination of uninvolved skin which is often a problem with conventional phototherapy devices. The light beam output profile of the LiteSpot allows delivery of UVB to small areas that can be “tiled” next to each other, while sparing the border areas from double exposure. The maximum spot size for the Levia LiteSpot is three square centimeters and its compact design makes handling easy and comfortable.
